This project enhances the character and performance of the landscape between Sterling Chemistry Laboratory and Sloane Physics Laboratory. Named in honor of American scientist Josiah Willard Gibbs (BA 1858, PhD 1863), the renewed Gibbs Court improves pedestrian accessibility and updates lighting, signage, and security equipment in the project area. Its redesign also provides increased plantings and gathering areas in addition to improvements to hardscape and storm water management.
