It preserves the character-giving features of the building, designed by architect John Russell Pope, MAH 1924, while providing a modern and high-performance space that complies with university design standards and local codes.

Sustainability
Once complete, this program is seeking LEED v4 Gold certification. It provides an all-electric-ready building that complies with Yale’s zero-carbon-ready design standards in anticipation of a migration away from using centralized steam.
The project also replaces all existing windows with high-performance window systems that comply with Yale’s bird-friendly campus initiative. The design of these systems maintains the heritage character of RTH and adjacent buildings.
